Finally…
The Aqua-dapter Mk2 is available for immediate despatch!
What’s different about the Mk2?
The first, and one of the most obvious differences, is that the body of the Aqua-dapter is now flared out at the end, allowing it to fit directly to larger diameter poles with an outside diameter of 25.4mm (e.g. Brodex Hydra, once the collar is removed).
Another benefit of the flared design is that it has allowed us to develop the Screw Thread Adapter which can be screwed onto your existing thread, allowing you to fit the Aqua-dapter Mk2 to your Water Fed Pole without any modifications! (with the Mk1 you need to remove the screw thread from your WFP.) There are Screw Thread Adapters to suit poles with Standard threads, Gardiner threads and Brodex collars.
Those aren’t the only improvements though:
- We’ve changed the plastic used to a high impact engineering plastic, and increased the thickness of the trigger and the side body, strengthening the whole unit.
- We’ve upgraded to Stainless Steel rivets to improve the end screw fixing, and the end screw now fits into the end of the Aluminium body very tightly before it is fixed, reducing the possibility of any ‘play’ when it’s under stress.
- You’ll notice that as well as being slightly thicker, one edge of the trigger is chamfered, which helps the tap to turn.
- The carriage inside the Aqua-dapter now has ‘shoulders’ on the top which reduce rotation of the carriage inside the body, and so assists correct operation of the tap and prevents other problems.
- Last but not least, the pipe used in the Aqua-dapter is now Aluminium, making the Aqua-dapter Mk2 suitable for use with hot water systems.
As you can see, we’ve put a lot of effort into this new version, and we’re committed to continually improving our products. There are ‘add-ons’ (similar to the Screw Thread Adapter) planned in the coming weeks and months, but the Aqua-dapter Mk2 itself is here to stay for the foreseeable future!
