The end cap on the Aqua-dapter is held in place by the tension of the spring, so can be removed.
Hook one end of the new spring on to the carriage inside the body of the Aqua-dapter, then either with a hook, or long-nosed pliers, pull the other end of the spring up through the end screw and hook it on to the end cap mentioned above. The tension of the spring will pull the end cap into place.
